We are looking for a kitchen assistant for the school restaurant for a permanent position.

Johan Skytteskolan has about 1100 students and is located in southern Älvsjö. The school consists of two school buildings. Due to retirement, we are now seeking a kitchen assistant for our production kitchen in the building for students from preschool to grade 6. In the kitchen, a chef and three kitchen assistants work with the preparation and serving of lunch and snacks for our students. Johan Skytteskolan has another production kitchen located in the adjacent high school building. Our kitchen manager has overall responsibility for our two kitchens.

The food served in the school restaurant must always be good, appealing, modern, and healthy. We see the school meal as a pedagogical opportunity to introduce our students to different food cultures, and we are keen to prepare the food that the students eat.

Together, we work to reduce food waste, minimize our climate impact, increase the proportion of organic food, and develop the school meal. School meals are important for students to have a good school day and academic results.

Your role

As a kitchen assistant, you will work together with the other kitchen staff to offer students the best possible dining experience.

Your tasks include assisting with cooking, preparing a salad buffet, setting up the school restaurant for serving, and organizing before, during, and after lunch and snacks. The job also includes dishwashing, cleaning, conducting self-checks with documentation, and receiving food deliveries.

Your skills and experience

You should have a high school education in the food program or experience in the profession that has provided equivalent knowledge.
